The history
1801 : creation
of the fabric manufacturing print works SCHWARTZ,
HOFFER & Co.
In the course of the 19th century there followed
the redeployment and change of direction and name.
After the installation of spinning and weaving in
1918, the company the named BUHL Silks became
TBC in 1929, specialising in cotton fabrics
and bleaching and dyeing.
Its activity resumed after the Second World War
under the name of GERARD MOTTE & Co.
Then in 1962 Teintures et Blanchiments de
Cernay returned to the group SCHAEFFER & Co.
Besides the processing of cotton fabrics the activity
started to develop around the dyeing and finishing
of fabrics from weavers and knitters in artificial
and synthetic fibres.
And then in 1998 the company became part
of the group SIAT, Societe Industrielle Altkirchoise
de Textiles.
TBC 200 years of knowledge in the textile industry.
